Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 2026 · Applies to Lensward for iOS

1. What we collect

Lensward is offline-first. Most of the app's data never leaves your device. The information we do collect:

• Account information — if you create an account, we collect your email address via Supabase (our auth provider) to identify you across devices.
• Purchase information — subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by RevenueCat. We receive purchase status (active, expired) but not payment card details.
• Crash and error reports — if the app crashes, Sentry captures a technical stack trace. This does not include your personal entries or journal content.
• Synced app data — if you enable iCloud or Supabase sync, your bias progress and settings are backed up. Journal entries and predictions are stored locally by default.

2. What stays on your device

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to Lensward servers:

• Journal entries and decision records
• Prediction ledger entries and autopsy notes
• Calibration scores and Brier score history
• Bias engagement history and personalization signals
• AI Intake text and analysis (when using BYOK)

3. AI features (Bring Your Own Key)

Lensward's AI Intake feature — which reads articles, URLs, and YouTube videos through a Cognitive Nutrition Label — is BYOK (Bring Your Own Key). When you use this feature:

• Your API key and any text you analyze go directly from your device to your chosen AI provider (e.g. OpenAI).
• Lensward does not see, store, or log the content you analyze.
• Your API key is stored securely in iOS Keychain on your device.
• Review the privacy policy of your AI provider for how they handle your requests.

4. Third-party services

Lensward uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — authentication and optional data sync. Privacy policy
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management. Privacy policy
• Sentry — crash reporting and error monitoring. Privacy policy

We do not use advertising SDKs, social login SDKs, or any analytics that track behavior across other apps or websites.

5. Data retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated server-side data at any time by contacting us. Local device data is removed when you delete the app.

6. Children's privacy

Lensward is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app's features change in ways that affect data handling. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
